The match day 25 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter started brightly for the hosts as they were always bombarding the Saraki Boys defense.
The Fatai Amoo tutored side were very wasteful in front of goal in the first half thanks to the bravery display of Saraki Boys back line. Chinedu Ajanah and Ibrahim Omolayo were always truncating a well coordinated attacking moves by the 3SC duo of Ajani Ibrahim and Wasiu Jimoh.
The Saraki Boys came out stronger in the second half and played better than the first stanza before they conceded the first goal. 3SC scored in the 58th minute when Wasiu Jimoh’s free kick found an unmarked Adebayo Ibrahim inches away from the goal line and made no mistakes to head home the first of the day to the delight of Oluyole Warriors fans.
The 3SC fans will have Samuelson Owono to thank as he stood tall in the defense for Oluyole Warriors to deny the Saraki Boys any chance of winning any aerial challenge. Substitute Sunday Faleye who replaced Super Sand Eagles star, Abu Azeez scored a fine goal in the 85th minute to double the advantage for the homers and put the game beyond the visitors.
There were late minutes flashes from the Saraki Boys but Owono was always up to the task to deny the Ilorin based side. The trio of Omolayo, Ajanah and Nurudeen Mudashir had some scintillating displays which later attracted handshakes and greetings from the 3SC fans after the game when the Saraki Boys were leaving the Adamasingba.
Speaking after the game, the captain of ABS FC, Chinedu Ajanah, said the game is done and dusted and that they will go home and prepare for the next match. He said 3SC players utilized their chances while his mates failed to make best use of their own.
