The Nigeria Beach Soccer National Team, the Sand Eagles, have received a vote of confidence from the Kaduna State Government ahead of their decisive return-leg clash against Ghana in the race to qualify for the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.

The state government conveyed its support through the Director of Sports Development at the Kaduna State Ministry of Sports Development, Hassan Buba, who wished the team success ahead of their departure for Ghana.

Buba delivered the message on behalf of the Kaduna State Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Ben Kure, during a visit by the Sand Eagles before their departure from Kaduna on Thursday morning.

He assured the players and officials of the state government’s backing as they prepare for the crucial encounter, explaining that the commissioner was unable to attend the send-off due to another important engagement outside the state.

“I extend to you the good wishes of the Honourable Commissioner, who would have loved to see you personally as you depart from Kaduna. He wishes you all the very best as you go to Accra for the return-leg match, and he is confident that you will earn the ticket to qualify for the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations,” Buba said.

The director also urged the players to maintain discipline throughout their stay in Ghana, offering prayers for a successful outing and reaffirming the state’s commitment to supporting the team.

Expressing confidence in the Sand Eagles’ ability to secure a positive result, Buba added: “We are solidly behind you in spirit, even though we cannot be physically present in Ghana. We are praying for you. Insha Allah, you will return victorious.”

The Sand Eagles head into the return leg seeking to secure their place at the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations after playing out a 3–3 draw in the first leg.

With qualification at stake, the Nigerian side will look to turn the support behind them into a positive result against Ghana.
