The Chairman of Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia, Coach John Sam Obuh, has warmly congratulated the Super Falcons of Nigeria on their historic 10th African title triumph.
The Nigerian women’s Football team made a stunning comeback against hosts, Morocco, cancelling a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final.
The Abia Warriors boss praised the Nigeria Darlings for demonstrating the true Nigerian spirit, saying, “The Super Falcons showcased our fighting spirit, never-give-up attitude and resilience.” He added, “Congratulations to the Super Falcons for securing their 10th WAFCON title; they truly deserve it.
The former Nigeria Under-17 and Under-20 head coach also encouraged the four Nigerian clubsides participating in the 2025/2026 CAF competitions to draw inspiration from the Super Falcons’ winning mentality and character, stating, “It’s been long time since Nigeria tasted any CAF club competition title, and these two attributes, if imbibed, will help them achieve the impossible.”
The Super Falcons’ WAFCON triumph earned them a $1 million prize money, with the team captain, Rasheedat Ajibade recognised as the player of the tournament, and Chiamaka Nnadozie named as goalkeeper of the tournament. The team Head Coach, Justine Madugu, received the coach of the tournament accolade.
