Sean Dyche has delivered a major blow to both Nottingham Forest and the Super Eagles after confirming that Nigerian defender Ola Aina will NOT be available for the club’s upcoming Premier League clash against Wolves at Molineux.
Aina has now missed 16 straight matches in all competitions, and Dyche finally revealed the timeline fans have been waiting for.
Ola Aina Return Timeline Revealed
Speaking on Friday, Dyche said:
“Ola Aina is getting close to fitness but obviously can’t be with us until January.”
The update leaves Nigeria coach Eric Chelle facing a huge AFCON headache. With the tournament kicking off later this month, Aina’s three-month absence and lack of match fitness could force Chelle into a difficult selection decision.

More Injury Woes: Awoniyi Also Out
Dyche also confirmed that fellow Nigerian star Taiwo Awoniyi will miss his third consecutive league game due to a muscular injury, adding to Forest’s growing list of absentees.

Offering an overall assessment, the Forest boss added:
“It’s better news. Not everyone’s quite fit yet, but a few are back on the grass training, which is a good start.
The ones left not with us yet are Taiwo, Wood, and Douglas, although they are getting closer.”
