Rasheedat Ajibade and Jennifer Echegini were both on the scoresheet as Paris Saint-Germain Féminine maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 Arkéma Première Ligue season with a 3-1 victory over FC Fleury 91 on Sunday afternoon.
The Super Falcons stars played key roles as PSG secured their fourth consecutive league victory at Essonne Stadium, keeping Paulo César’s side level on points with defending champions Lyon at the top of the table.
PSG had to wait until the 22nd minute to break the deadlock, with Léa Morissaint converting from the penalty spot after a handball decision was confirmed following a VAR review.
The visitors continued to push forward and were rewarded again before half-time when Echegini rose to meet a cross and headed the ball into the net in the 36th minute.
It was a particularly important moment for the Nigerian midfielder, as the goal marked her first league strike of the campaign and gave PSG a comfortable 2-0 advantage heading into the break.
After the restart, Ajibade added her name to the scoresheet.
The Nigeria captain reacted quickest to a scramble inside the Fleury penalty area in the 58th minute, finishing from close range to make it 3-0.
The goal was Ajibade’s third in the league this season and her fourth across all competitions, continuing what has been an impressive start to the campaign for the Nigerian forward.
Fleury managed to pull one goal back in the 75th minute when Shana Chossenotte found the net, but PSG remained in control for the remainder of the match and comfortably saw out the victory.
The result leaves PSG with a perfect 12 points from their opening four league matches. They currently occupy second place in the table, behind Lyon only on goal difference.
For Nigerian football supporters, the performances of Ajibade and Echegini provide another reason for optimism.
Ajibade has continued to make her presence felt for the Parisian side after also finding the net recently in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, while Echegini’s first league goal of the season will provide a timely confidence boost as she competes for a regular role in a talented PSG squad.
The pair have already established themselves as important figures for both club and country, and their latest contributions underline the growing influence of Nigerian players at the highest level of women’s football in Europe.
With the international break now approaching, PSG can take plenty of confidence from their perfect league record. When domestic action resumes, the Parisiennes will return with one clear objective: to maintain their push for top spot and keep pace with Lyon.
And with Ajibade and Echegini continuing to find the net, PSG’s perfect start is showing no signs of slowing down.
