Daniel Ogunmodede has been appointed as the new technical adviser of Kano Pillars F.C., with the four-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions confirming the appointment ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Popularly known as “Ijaball,” the 46-year-old tactician has signed a two-year contract and is expected to arrive in Kano alongside his backroom staff to begin preparations for the new campaign. The appointment signals the club’s ambition to return to the top of Nigerian football after recent seasons of inconsistency.
Ogunmodede arrives with an impressive coaching résumé. He previously guided Remo Stars F.C. to domestic success and also gained valuable European experience during his stint as an assistant coach at C.D. Feirense in Portugal. He currently serves as an assistant coach of the Nigeria national football team under head coach Éric Chelle and holds a UEFA B licence.
Confirming the appointment, Kano Pillars expressed their excitement in an official statement released by the club’s media director, Ismail Abba Tangalashi.
