24 Players Now In Super Eagles Camp As Tuesday Training Approaches

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with the arrival of NK Istra forward Salim Fago Lawal and Nantes defender Chidozie Awaziem in Cairo. 

Their arrivals bring the total number of players in camp to 24, following the early morning arrival of Arsenal Academy graduate Ryan Alebiosu on Tuesday.

Four additional players are expected to join the squad to complete the roster for the continental tournament.

The team conducted their first training session on Monday night in Cairo, with 21 players in attendance.

Those present included key squad members such as goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, defender Stanley Nwabali, midfielders Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Raphael Onyedika, and forwards Paul Onuachu and Alex Iwobi.

Other players involved in the session were Akinsanmiro Ebenezer, Amas Obasogie, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Igho Ogbu, Tochukwu Nnadi, Zaidu Sanusi, Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey, Wilfred Ndidi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Cyril Dessers, Akor Adams, and Chidera Ejuke.

The team will hold another training session on Tuesday morning as they continue preparations for a warm-up friendly against the Pharaohs of Egypt scheduled for this evening.

The match will serve as a key final test before the squad departs for Morocco later this week to conclude their AFCON preparations.
