Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Board member and Chairman of Referee Appointment committee, Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, has urged Nigerian philanthropists to encourage the youths in any capacity they can to help get them off the street.
Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh made these remarks at the maiden edition of the Ahmed Fresh 8 a-side Ramadan peace unity cup football competition in Kaduna township stadium. Nigerians are very talented people. We have witnessed it in football I know they have it in other fields like entertainment, sports, refereeing, officiating, media, statistics and other great areas.
Football, like any of the other 42 sports disciplines in the nation, can help the youths take to great careers. He also admonished the athletes to combine education to their sporting endeavours. According to Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, “you have to improve your self-esteem and develop important social activities. Sports will also help you to change the image of the nation positively.
He however challenged the other philanthropists to help in encouraging the youths to discover their hidden latent talents in order to help the country grow in podium successes. Our country will develop if pay necessary attention to youths I have always want to given back to society especially in football one of the reason I support grassroots football.
It was recalled that two first half goals is what the Kakuri Academy needed to win the maiden. They defeated FC Porto Academy of Kaduna. The young lads of Kakuri Academy exhibited great skills of a worthy champion. They mesmerised their opponents so well to win the tourney.
The host chairman of Kaduna FA, Sheriff Al-Kassim, in his comment thanked the sponsors and participants in the tourney and wished them safe journey back to their destinations while looking forward to seeing them in the next edition.
Some of the guests at the event include Patrick Paschal, Mohammed Alkali, Emmanuel Babayaro, Alhaji Shehu Gusau, Ahmed Kawu, Sabo Babayaro amongst many others.
