Abia Comets Football Club of Umuahia has announced significant changes to its coaching staff, appointing Dipreye Teibowei, formerly of Bayelsa United, as the new Technical Adviser. The club also confirmed Monday Eguavoen, the former head coach of 1472 FC, as its new Chief Coach. Eguavoen replaces Okechukwu Ejeh, whose contract expired at the end of the 2024/25 Nigeria National League season.
During the official introduction of the new coaches, club Chairman Chief Boniface Alozie Uche expressed his confidence that Teibowei and Eguavoen are the right leaders to elevate the club. He praised their experience and deep understanding of the game, stating his optimism that they will take the team to new heights.
Chief Boniface also addressed the rest of the technical crew, urging them to collaborate with the new appointees to ensure the team performs even better in the upcoming 2025/26 football season.
Speaking to the Abia Comets FC media after the unveiling, the new Technical Adviser, Dipreye Teibowei, emphasized the importance of a collective effort. He also shared his personal ambitions for the club, stating his goal is not only to guide Abia Comets to the Super 8 playoffs but to secure promotion to the top-flight Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
