Nigeria Claims Gold in Womens Cycling at Inaugural African School Games

Team Nigeria made a remarkable impact at the inaugural African School Games in Algeria, with Godwin Osaretin Grace securing gold in the Women’s Cycling Road Race event on Friday. Grace delivered a superb performance, clocking a time of 1:37:02 to edge out Algeria’s home favorite, Chemouni Saoussan, who finished just four seconds behind at 1:37:06.

The thrilling race, which had spectators on the edge of their seats, saw Grace demonstrate impressive skill and determination, solidifying Nigeria’s position as a force to be reckoned with in African school sports.

This victory adds to Nigeria’s growing medal tally at the competition. As of Friday morning, August 1, Team Nigeria has accumulated a total of 11 medals, consisting of:

3 Gold, 4 Silver, 4 Bronze.

With more cycling events and other competitions on the horizon, Team Nigeria looks poised to build on its momentum and make history at the maiden edition of the African School Games.
