MFM FC ended FC IfeanyiUbah unbeaten run after they emerged 1-0 victors at the Agege Stadium.
Adebayo Waheed’s 19th minute opener proved to be the winner in a match which the Olukoya Boys dominated proceedings. Yaw Preko’s men had few chances of their own but lack the finishing touch to put the Olukoya Boys to the sword. In the end, MFM carried the day thus registering a second clean sheet in the last three Nigeria Professional Football League matches, and the win moves the Fidelis Ilechukwu tutored lads up to second place, having garnered 37 points, while the Anambra Warriors are in fourth place with 34 points from 22 matches so far.

Wikki Tourists 2-1 El Kanemi Warriors 

Wikki Tourists returned to winning ways after they edged El Kanemi Warriors 2-1 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium. The Giant Elephants, hungry for a win, attacked from the blast of the whistle. And they had their approach repaid after Ismail Gbabayan netted after a swift counter attack. In the second half, Wikki kept on asking the questions and doubled their advantage. Festus Umanah’s effort left the goalkeeper completely stunned. The Desert Warriors managed to better their act as they were calm and composed as opposed to the chaos they had in the opening hour. Efe Yarhere scored in the 85th minute, tapping in from Lucky Erimuya’s shot after a poor Wikki defending.

Enyimba 1-0 Plateau United 

Nigeria Professional Football League leaders Plateau United suffered a 0-1 defeat at Enyimba in a tight contest on Sunday. The story was not pleasing for the champions Enugu Rangers either as they had to fight back from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw against Nasarawa United in front of their supporters at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu. Andrew Abalogu scored the winner for Enyimba in the 69th minute to despatch Plateau United. The Peoples Elephant moved into fifth place with 34 points following the win.
Remo Stars 2-0 Gombe United 

Gombe United suffered a 2-0 defeat against Remo Stars at the Gateway Stadium. The result ended the Sky Blue Stars’ poor run of five consecutive defeats. First half goals from Oche Salefu and Awazie Ekene took Fatai Osho’s boys to 22 points, while Manu Garba’s side still have 26 points from 22 games.


Katsina United 1-0 Abia Warriors 


Katsina United recorded a 1-0 win over Abia Warriors thanks to a first-half spot kick from Sani Nasiru. The home side dominated the game from the beginning but struggled to break the Ucendu Babes’ defence with Agbor Ekoi saving a free kick from Timothy Danladi. Finally, in the 45th minute, Baldwin Bazuaye’s men took the lead with Nasiru shooting the ball past Ekoi from the penalty spot.


ABS FC 2-1 Niger Tornadoes 


Goals from Mohammed Mohammed and Ossy Martins were enough to give ABS a vital 2-1 victory over Niger Tornadoes. The Saraki Boys took their first real opportunity of the game to take the lead when Mohammed converted from six yards after latching onto a perfectly wieighed pass from Adeshina Issa Gata. Tornadoes hit back late in the first half when Wakili Abdullahi levelled the scores with ease from the penalty spot. However, Gata continued to cause havoc in the Tornadoes defence. The winger was involved in ABS winner as he found substitute Ossy, who tapped in to give Henry Makinwa’s side victory.

Kano Pillars 2-1 Lobi Stars 

A Nyima Nwangwa brace helped Kano Pillars to a 2-1 win over Lobi Stars at the Sani Abacha Stadium. Pillars went in front nine minutes before the break after a Rabiu Ali corner kick was headed home by Nwangwa. The hosts continued to dominate in the second half and extended their lead in the 59th minute, as Kabiru Balogun picked out Nwangwa, who was able to slot the ball past the goalkeeper from inside the box.

  
Enugu Rangers 1-1 Nasarawa United 


Enugu Rangers netted a late goal to earn a 1-1 draw against Nasarawa United in a closed door match at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium. Despite bossing possession and creating chances at will, the Flying Antelopes were handed a shocker. With 16 minutes left on the clock, Thomas Zenke got the curtain raiser following a well laid pass from Adamu Hassan. Godwin Aguda levelled the scoreline in the 80th minute.

Shooting Stars 1-0 Sunshine Stars 


Shooting Stars gave their fans something to cheer with a hard fought 1-0 win over Sunshine Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium. The home side went into the game without a win in their last four matches, while the Owena Whales weren’t much better in terms of consistency. Ibrahim Ajani put the Oluyole Warriors on ascendancy after seven minutes.
