Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Nigeria international winger Femi Azeez from Championship side Millwall on a four-year contract, with an option to extend the deal by another year.
The transfer was completed on deadline day after Brighton submitted a deal sheet before the 11pm deadline on Tuesday, with the move formally finalised in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The Seagulls have agreed an initial package believed to be worth £12.5 million, with add-ons potentially taking the total value beyond £15 million. The deal represents a club-record sale for Millwall.
Azeez becomes Brighton’s 11th signing of a busy summer transfer window as head coach Fabian Hürzeler continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Brighton sporting director Mike Cave expressed his delight at securing the Nigerian winger, praising the impact he made during an impressive season with Millwall.
“We’re delighted to add Femi to the squad,” Cave said. “He was one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Championship.”
The 25-year-old enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 campaign, registering 11 goals and seven or eight assists as Millwall reached the Championship play-offs. His performances earned him recognition in both the PFA and EFL Teams of the Season.
Since joining Millwall from Reading for around £1 million in 2024, Azeez made 77 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists.
Born in Westminster, England, Azeez is eligible to represent Nigeria and has already established himself as a Super Eagles international, scoring on his senior debut.
His performances attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, but the winger ultimately chose Brighton, with the Amex Stadium providing the next destination in his rapidly developing career.
Azeez’s arrival adds further pace, versatility and direct attacking threat to Brighton’s squad as the club prepares for another demanding Premier League season.
