Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
The Red Devils are said to be exploring several striker targets, with Osimhen emerging as their preferred candidate as the club seeks an experienced goalscorer to complement Benjamin Šeško.
United invested heavily in the Slovenian forward last summer, bringing him to Old Trafford amid high expectations.
Although Šeško initially struggled to adapt to the demands of English football, the 23-year-old has shown encouraging signs of progress under manager Michael Carrick.
Despite his improvement, the club remains determined to add proven firepower to its frontline as it prepares for another demanding campaign.
According to reports from CaughtOffside, Osimhen is regarded as United’s dream signing.
The Nigerian international continued his impressive goalscoring form during his time with Galatasaray, registering 22 goals and eight assists in another standout season.
Widely regarded as one of Europe’s most complete forwards, Osimhen combines pace, strength, aerial ability and clinical finishing, qualities that have attracted interest from several top clubs across the continent.
However, Manchester United could face stiff competition for his signature, while any potential deal is expected to require a significant financial commitment.
In addition to Osimhen, United are reportedly monitoring several alternative options.
Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta remains on the club’s radar following his impressive performances in the Premier League, while Juventus frontman Dušan Vlahović is also being considered.
The shortlist reportedly includes Bournemouth’s highly rated young prospect Eli Junior Kroupi, as well as veteran Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, whose experience and goalscoring pedigree continue to command respect at the highest level.
As Manchester United continue planning for the future, strengthening the attack appears to be one of the club’s top priorities.
Whether the Red Devils can secure their dream target in Osimhen remains to be seen, but the Nigerian star’s name is expected to remain firmly linked with Old Trafford in the months ahead.
