The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has intensified disciplinary proceedings in the Süper Lig by referring 11 clubs to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) following incidents recorded during Matchweek 32 of the 2025/26 season.
Among the clubs referred are Turkish giants Galatasaray, Trabzonspor, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş, alongside Gaziantep FK, Samsunspor, Kayserispor, Antalyaspor, Kasımpaşa, Gençlerbirliği, and Kocaelispor.
Nigerian Stars Affected
The development directly impacts Super Eagles forwards Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu, whose clubs Galatasaray and Trabzonspor are among those under investigation.
Both Nigerian internationals have been influential figures for their sides this season, with Osimhen starring in Galatasaray’s title push while Onuachu has remained a key attacking presence for Trabzonspor.
Supporters will now await the outcome of the disciplinary process amid fears that potential sanctions could affect the closing stages of the campaign.
Nature of Violations Unclear
In its official statement, the TFF confirmed the referrals but did not provide detailed explanations for the alleged infractions committed by each club.
In Turkish football, common disciplinary breaches often involve crowd disturbances, inappropriate fan conduct, failure to maintain stadium order, or criticism directed at referees and federation officials.
Second-Tier Clubs and Managers Also Referred
The disciplinary action extended beyond the Süper Lig, with five clubs from the Trendyol 1. Lig also referred to the PFDK.
Those clubs include Hatayspor, Iğdır FK, Amed Sportif Faaliyetler, Bandırmaspor, and Esenler Erokspor.
Additionally, former Gençlerbirliği manager Volkan Demirel and Esenler Erokspor coach Osman Özköylü were referred under precautionary measures.
Possible Punishments
The PFDK will now assess the cases submitted by the federation’s legal department. Possible sanctions include financial fines, partial or full stadium closures, supporter restrictions, and, in severe situations, points deductions.
With the season entering its decisive phase, any punishment could have major implications for the title race, European qualification battle, and relegation fight.
The latest developments once again highlight the challenges facing Turkish football, where passionate rivalries and heated atmospheres frequently lead to disciplinary intervention from the federation.
