Nasarawa United FC has officially unveiled a new set of players ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, in a move signaling the club’s intent to challenge for honours and secure a continental berth.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the Lafia City Stadium on Thursday, attracting a modest crowd of fans and media representatives. It served as a key moment in the Solid Miners’ build-up to the new campaign across both the NPFL and domestic cup competitions.
Club Chairman Solomon Babanjah and Team Manager Adamu Musa Galle introduced the new signings, who are expected to reinforce various departments of the squad. Among those unveiled were left-back Ikemdinachi Imo Prince (Enyimba FC), winger Lawal Akanni (Kwara United), defensive midfielder Gozie Umeh (Enyimba FC), and goalkeeper Olughu Onu Chinemerem (Ikorodu City FC).

Also unveiled were centre-back Moses Botia Tsetuan and striker Paul Itim (both from Lobi Stars), goalkeeper Ovunda Darlintin (Akwa United), attacking midfielder Vincent Akpikpi (Bendel Insurance), central midfielder Olawale Olajide (Dragons FC, Benin Republic), and several others from both domestic and West African clubs.
Some of the players, wearing the club’s colours for the first time, shared their excitement with the media. Darlintin Ovunda described it as a “new stage” in his career, while Akpikpi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to join a team he had long admired.
Returning defender Moses Tsetuan called it a homecoming and vowed to improve on his past contributions to the club, while striker Paul Itim promised goals and effort in pursuit of league, cup, and continental success.
Club Chairman Babanjah reaffirmed the club’s ambitions. “Some of our players moved on after last season. We’re bringing in quality additions to match our goals,” he said. “We’re going for a continental spot this time, and with our new technical adviser, Mangut Mbwas, and these new faces, we’re confident of a strong campaign.”
He acknowledged the continuous support of Governor Abdullahi Sule, Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, and other stakeholders for their roles in the club’s progress.
