Nigeria Professional football League table toppers, plateau United football Club of jos says, the are not concerned that their lead on the league table has been reduced to 3 points. According to the Media Officer of the club, Albert Dakup, the team is rather fully focused on the remaining fixtures, noting that, as champions in the waiting, they are taking one game at a time. Dakup noted that with 6 matches left, there are no easy fixtures left as every team will want to put up a decent performance in order to end the season well.

He explained that with the present high spirit in camp, both coaches and players and other management staff are working extra hard to realise the club,s ambition of winning the league for the very first time in their history. The media Officer who attributed plateau United success this season to the elaborate welfare packages put in place by the management of the club under the able leadership of Pius Henwan and with the moral and financial support of governor Simon Lalong, the team will not rest on its oars in their quest to win the league title. He further stated that after topping the NPFL for better part of the season, plateau United is  not ready to relinquish their leadership position on the league table, stressing that the team will continue to work hard in order to crown their efforts with success as a mark of appreciation to the  support from the government and people of plateau state.

The team which is travelling to Kano to keep a date with Kano pillars in a match day 33 fixtures this weekend, stressed that they respect Masu Gida for the successes they recorded in the past after winning the league for times in the last nine years, Plateau united is ready to fight for the 3 maximum points in order to increase their chances of winning the league title. Plateau United football club of jos one of the favourites to win the 2016/t017 NPFL title are still topping the league table with 58 points from 32 matches, two more than their closest challengers, Mountain of Fire and Miracles of Lagos have 55 points.
