The Sky Blue Stars to play Katsina United today in week 17 fixtures in sagamu and they are beaming in confidence as they fashioned out a 1-1 draw against the defending champions, Rangers International Football Club at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu also known as the Cathedral on Wednesday evening. Katsina United lost their last game 2-0 against Sunshine Stars Football Club and would go into this fixture with all seriousness to get points on the road.
Both teams met before the commencement of the new Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season with the Katsina Boys coming out victorious after defeating the Sky Blue Stars 3-0 in the first game of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super4 that took place in Gombe but this is a new ball game entirely because both teams are playing each other in the NPFL for the first time and they both have new managers stirring the ships of their clubs.
Fatai Osho and his assistant |
Technical Adviser of Remo Stars Football Club, Osho Fatai has indicated that his team won’t be complacent with the draw they had against defending champion, Rangers International going into todays match. In a chat with RSFC Media, Osho says his boys will be very careful going into this particular tie with the Katsina Boys.
“Coming from the draw against Rangers International, we have to be careful so that we don’t get complacent since we need all the points we could gather to make further push up the table. “I have told my players not to be carried away with the 1-1 draw we played with the defending champions because we can’t afford to remove our feet off the gas.”
Speaking about the loss against Katsina United FC during Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 4, Osho plays it down by relating the fixture to another setting entirely. “What we have now is a different setting entirely. No one live by the past in football, Good or Bad. A lot of water have actually passed under the bridge and the result at that time was actually inconsequential at the moment.”
“Katsina United is a good side but the competition at this level is so high that one will have to prepare for 38 cup finals in the season and that shows how intense the league is.” Osho reacted.
