The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Melvin Pinnick has confirmed that he will not be voting for incumbent president the Confederation of African Football (CAF) of Issa Hayatou during the CAF elections.
Cameroonian, Hayatou has been president of CAF since 1988 and his looking to be reelected for his eighth term in office, but he faces a stiff competition from Ahmad Ahmad of Madagascar.
Ahmad has disclosed that Pinnick is a “close ally” and he has won over the trust of the former Delta State FA boss, who is also vying for a seat in the CAF executive committee running against incumbent member Anjorin Moucharafou who is also the head of Benin Republic Football Federation, Moucharafou Anjorin has ridiculed Amaju Melvin Pinnick, and his candidacy for a post in CAF, saying that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president is “my small boy”.

Pinnick is running for a post in the CAF executive committee and going against Anjorin, but the Beninese and incumbent member in the committee feels the Nigerian is trying to use the “big name of Nigeria” to bully him out.
“I’m preparing for the CAF election like any other election. We want change in the Confederation,” the election holds on Thursday, March 16 in Ethiopia.
