The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has appointed Gabonese referee Pierre Ghislain Atcho to officiate Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash against South Africa in Bloemfontein next Tuesday. The Matchday 8 fixture in the African qualification series will take place at the Toyota Stadium.
Atcho will be supported by fellow Gabonese officials Boris Marlaise Ditsoga (assistant referee 1), Amos Abeigne Ndong (assistant referee 2), and Cregue Fleury Moukagni, who will serve as the fourth official. The referee assessor for the encounter will be Olivier Safari Kabene from the Democratic Republic of Congo, while Ugandan official Mike Letti takes on the role of match commissioner.
For the earlier Matchday 7 fixture between Nigeria and Rwanda, scheduled for this Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Chadian referee Allaou Mahamat has been appointed to take charge. He will be joined by compatriots Bogollah Issa (assistant referee 1), Moussa Hafiz (assistant referee 2), and Abdelkerim Ousmane as the fourth official.
Taher Abdelsalam Mahmoud of Egypt will serve as the referee assessor in Uyo, with Bakary Jammeh from The Gambia appointed as the commissioner. — NFF Communications Department
