Young Nigerian center-back Benjamin Tanimu has completed a significant move to Maghreb Sportive de Fès (MAS Fès) in Morocco, signing a three-year contract as he looks to elevate his club career in North African football  .
The 23-year-old arrived in Fès following a stint at Crawley Town in England’s League Two, where he featured seven times last season before departing after relegation . His departure marks a fresh start and a return to continental football, this time in the Botola Pro, Morocco’s top-flight.
Known for his assured presence, aerial strength, and ability to play out from the back, Tanimu initially rose to prominence in Nigeria with Bendel Insurance, through whom he displayed defensive composure in domestic and continental competitions .
Since launching his professional journey in Benin City, he has progressed steadily earning three caps for Nigeria under coach Finidi George in 2024 and experiencing football in Tanzania before moving to England .
Tanimu becomes the first signing under new head coach Pablo Franco Martin, reflecting the club’s intent to solidify its defensive structure and aim for an improved finish in the 2025 Botola Pro season .
