Remo Stars Loss To Enyimba In Calabar A Huge Setback For Our Target In NPFL

Technical Adviser of Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC), Osho Fatai has said he is quite unhappy with his side’s 1-0 loss to Enyimba Football Club in Match Day 19 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)in Calabar.


Stephen Chukwude scored a sublime free kick in the 41st minute to give the People’s Elephant the maximum points against the Sky Blue Stars at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar. “We are not happy because we lost, we need to be winning whether we are at home or on the road and for us to have lost to Enyimba, it’s a very sad one.” 

“Regardless of us taking the fight to them or we played better, we just have to win and I am quite unhappy to have lost the game. “We have to commend Enyimba defence, they stood tall and you can count the number of blocks they had. We created chances and they blocked brilliantly.”

Both teams started the game brilliantly in the early minutes of the game before Walbe David was forced to pull a save for the Sky Blue Stars.The People’s Elephant had another chance to go ahead through Ibrahim Mustapher, he plays it wide. 

Oche Salefu with the shot that looks like a clear chance for the Sky Blue Stars and he plays wide, immediately Enudi Solomon also got a chance that went wide. Enyimba FC should have gone ahead through Andrew Abalogu in the 20th minute but his attempt with his head hits the bar and Ewelike Edozie clears the line for the Sky Blue Stars.

Just immediately after the chance, Ekene Obi saves the Sky Blue Stars yet again after he brilliantly clears the line to deny the home side from taking the lead in the game. The People’s Elephant got a free kick close to the box in the 41st minute and Stephen Chukwude brilliantly slot in to put the home side ahead.

“Tactically, I asked my players to play that way in the first half before the chicken goal went it and destabilised my players.” Osho said.
