Players of Rangers Intl. football club of Enugu has vowed to punish Gombe United FC with with goals in Sundays, week 20 NPFL league clash at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu in retaliation of Gombe United Supporters act of violence to Rangers during the rescheduled NPFL week 19 game in Gombe last week.
A statement by Rangers Director Public Relations, median and publicity, Foster Chime, said the intensity of Rangers team preparation for Sunday’s match in Enugu increased Thursday, When Rangers International Fc thrashed an Enugu based Civil defence team by 8 goals to zero, as part of their tune up Sunday’s match against Gombe in Enugu.
A cross section of the players, including Bobby Clement, deputy team captain Etim Mathew, Obinna Nwobodo, Christian Madu and Chibuzor Madu, described Sundays as a must win match to punish Gombe United team and pay them back in their own coin to assuage the feelings of Rangers fans and supporters who are still reeling from the condemnable Treatments metted to Rangers deputy Captain, Etim Mathew and the team during their clash in Gombe.
According to some of the players though fans and supporters of the team in Enugu and environs will never plan any reprisal attack against the Gombe United team but the outcome of the match will be used as palliative for the Rangers fans to cushion their anguish for Gombe on Sunday.
Meanwhile a cross section of Rangers supporters have urged the fans and their members to conduct themselves well and disciplined during Sunday league game at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium Enugu during the Rangers internation FC versus Gombe United FC clash and avoid any action that will tarnish the image of Rangers of Enugu State or bring the game into disrepute.
According to them the LMC has meted out adequate sanctions that are commiserate to the unruly and dastardly actions of the Gombe United FC fans and supporters which is commendable and must never take laws into their hands under any provocation.
Rangers international FC management has equally contained the clubs fans and supporters against any act of soccer hooliganism or intimidation of visiting Gombe United players and officials, noting that Rangers and Enugu has always provided a convivial and conducive atmosphere to any visitinbg team and Sundays match will not be an exception.
The management said adequate arrangement have been made for effective security and organization that will propel a landslide victory for Rangers on that day. They urged supporters and fans of Rangers to come out en-mass on Sunday by 4pm at the Nnadim Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu to support Rangers to Victory.
Rangers Intl. FC Enugu will on Sunday, 21st May, 2017 host Gombe United FC in an NPFL match at the “CATHEDRAL”, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
Rangers were held to a 3 – 3 draw by Gombe United FC in their week 19, rescheduled game at the partani stadium, Gombe.
The Rangers Management has also condemned some uncomplimentary comments in the media credited to Gombe United FC officials and individuals. Management advises the LMC to call such individuals and Gombe United team to order, stressing that if not checked may cause disaffection and dissatisfaction amongst Rangers fans and supporters and to a great extent bring our game into disrepute.
Rangers Management maintains that the allegations being peddled by Gombe United FC is very unhealthy and tarnishing , and should be condemnable so as not to jeopardize the success made so far in our league by the LMC.
That Rangers Management Challenge Gombe United FC to expadiate action on their investigations on the alleged match fixing in the Gombe United versus Rangers Intl. rescheduled match day 19 game in Gombe and give proof or be prepared to face appropriate actions.
