Rivers United goalkeeper Clinton Ezekiel has vowed to give his all as the club targets a successful campaign in the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Ezekiel marked his competitive debut for the Pride of Rivers in impressive fashion, helping Rivers United secure a 2-0 victory over Plateau United in their opening league fixture at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
The goalkeeper kept a clean sheet as Finidi George’s side began their campaign on a winning note, providing an early boost to the club’s ambitions for the new season.
Reflecting on the occasion, Ezekiel expressed his appreciation to the Rivers United technical crew and his teammates for the confidence they showed in him.
“I’m honoured to have made my debut for Rivers United and to contribute with a clean sheet,” Ezekiel said in a post on X.
“I am grateful to God, the technical crew, my teammates, and the entire Rivers United family for the trust and support.
“This is only the beginning. I remain committed to working hard and giving my best for the club.”
The 2-0 triumph gives Rivers United an encouraging start to the new NPFL campaign, with Ezekiel now determined to build on his debut performance and play his part in the club’s pursuit of its season objectives.
