Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar has ignited a fresh debate in the Turkish Super Lig after boldly asserting that Galatasaray superstar Victor Osimhen is not the league’s best striker a title he believes belongs to Beşiktaş forward Tammy Abraham.
Aboubakar, speaking to Ertem Şener YT as cited by FutbolArena, dismissed the idea that Osimhen currently leads the pack, insisting Abraham is the most complete No. 9 in Turkey.
“Based on the football they play, Tammy Abraham.
“He knows football well. Put Abraham in Galatasaray he’d score a lot.
“He’d play better than Osimhen,” Aboubakar said.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray permanently this summer for €75 million the most expensive transfer in Turkish football history following a brilliant loan spell where he was named top scorer, Best Player, and Goal of the Season winner.
But despite arriving as one of Europe’s elite finishers, the Nigerian has endured an uneven start to the new campaign.
Injuries and fitness problems have restricted him to three goals in ten league matches, a stark contrast to his explosive six goals in three Champions League games.
