Millwall winger Femi Azeez has reportedly informed the Championship club of his desire to join Brighton & Hove Albion after the Premier League side had a third offer for the Nigeria international rejected.
According to reports from The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Brighton’s latest proposal for the 25-year-old attacker was worth more than £12 million, including potential add-ons. However, Millwall turned down the offer because it still falls short of their valuation of one of their most important players.
The Seagulls had previously made two formal approaches, with their second bid understood to have been worth slightly more than £10 million.
Azeez Pushes for Premier League Move
Despite Millwall’s resistance, Azeez is understood to have made his preference clear.
The London-born forward reportedly wants to join Brighton as he looks to fulfil his ambition of playing in the Premier League. The winger is believed to have prioritised a move to the Amex Stadium despite interest from several other clubs.
Wrexham, Hull City, Ipswich Town and clubs from outside England have also reportedly shown interest in the Nigerian, but Brighton currently appear to be his preferred destination.
Azeez still has a contract with Millwall until 2028, giving the Championship club a strong negotiating position.
Breakout Season at Millwall
Azeez’s growing transfer value is a reflection of his outstanding 2025/26 campaign.
After joining Millwall from Reading in August 2024 for around £1 million, the attacker developed into one of the Championship’s most productive wide players.
He finished last season with 11 goals and seven assists, performances that earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Season.
His pace, direct running, creativity and ability to contribute goals from the right flank have made him an attractive proposition for Premier League clubs.
Dream Start to Nigeria Career
Azeez’s rise continued after breaking into the Super Eagles setup.
The forward enjoyed a dream senior international debut during the 2026 Unity Cup in London, scoring both goals in Nigeria’s 2-0 semi-final victory over Zimbabwe.
He then provided an assist in the final as Nigeria defeated Jamaica 3-0 to lift the trophy.
His rapid emergence at both the club and international levels has significantly enhanced his reputation and increased interest in his services.
Brighton Refuses to Give Up
Brighton are believed to remain determined to sign Azeez despite Millwall rejecting their third proposal.
The Premier League club are looking to strengthen their attacking options amid injury problems affecting key players, including Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh.
