The disappointment inside the Super Falcons camp following Nigeria’s 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) quarter-final defeat to Cameroon was so severe that some players reportedly struggled to eat the following day.

Speaking to ESPN, Kanu explained that the defeat had affected the players deeply.

Kanu also admitted that she personally struggled to eat, The forward said some players were still dealing with the disappointment, while she and several teammates had cried following the defeat.
