Heartland Queens and Ikorodu City will compete in the finals of the 2026 President Federation Cup after impressive runs to the competition’s showpiece event.
The finals will be played on Saturday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, with the women’s final between Heartland Queens and Nasarawa Amazons scheduled for noon, while the men’s final between Ikorodu City and El-Kanemi Warriors kicks off at 4 p.m.
Heartland Queens secured their place in the women’s final after defeating FC Robo Queens in the semi-finals at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. FC Robo Queens had earlier eliminated Rivers Angels in the quarter-finals.
The Owerri-based side began their campaign with victories over Dragon Fury Ladies, Ahudiyannem Queens and Ibom Angels before reaching the last four.
Nasarawa Amazons advanced to the final after defeating Sunshine Queens in the semi-finals at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
The two-time Federation Cup champions opened their campaign with a win over Osklean FC in the Round of 32 before progressing via penalty shootout victories against Naija Ratels and Edo Queens.
In the men’s competition, Ikorodu City reached the Federation Cup final for the first time in the club’s history, where they will face three-time champions El-Kanemi Warriors.
The Maiduguri-based side won the competition in 1991 and 1992 before claiming their third title in 2024 with a victory over Abia Warriors in the final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
The winners of the men’s final will earn Nigeria’s ticket to the next edition of the CAF Confederation Cup.
