Nigerian striker Joseph Oloko Ede delivered a stunning attacking display on Wednesday evening, scoring four goals to inspire FK Tukums 2000 to a dominant 6-1 victory over Ogre United in the Tonybet Virslīga.
The emphatic Round 11 triumph at Tukuma pilsētas stadions marked Tukums’ second consecutive convincing home win and further highlighted Ede’s growing reputation as one of the league’s most dangerous forwards.
Nigerian Striker Runs Riot
Ede, currently on loan from FK Liepāja, produced a ruthless performance in front of goal, taking his league tally to 11 goals in just nine appearances.
The 25-year-old opened the scoring in the 35th minute, rising highest to head home a precise delivery from Bogdans Samoilovs. Just six minutes later, Leoni doubled the lead with a composed finish following a well-worked short corner routine.
Second-Half Explosion
Although Ede missed an early second-half opportunity after being denied by goalkeeper Ņikita Parfjonovs, Tukums remained firmly in control.
Another assist from Samoilovs led to the third goal, with Ruslans Deružinskis heading home in the 68th minute.
Kristers Čudars briefly reduced the deficit for Ogre United in the 75th minute, but Ede quickly extinguished any hopes of a comeback.
Clinical Finishing on Display
The Nigerian forward took over completely in the closing stages. In the 79th minute, he curled a superb left-footed strike into the far corner before adding two more goals in stoppage time: a calm one-on-one finish and a devastating counterattacking effort.
The four-goal haul also marked Ede’s second hat-trick of the 2026 season, underlining his exceptional form.
Tukums Climb the Table
The victory lifts FK Tukums 2000 from ninth to seventh in the standings with 11 points, while Ogre United remain bottom of the table with just three points from 11 matches.
Ede Emerging as Virslīga Star
Since arriving in Latvia, Ede has rapidly developed into one of the league’s standout performers. Standing at 184 cm and comfortable with both feet, the Nigerian striker has transformed Tukums’ attack with his physicality, movement, and clinical finishing.
Having joined FK Liepāja in early 2025 before securing a loan move to Tukums, the forward is now attracting growing attention with his prolific displays.
Tukums will aim to continue their momentum in their next fixture against Super Nova, while Ogre United faces a difficult away trip to FK Liepāja.
For Ede, however, the message is already clear: the Nigerian forward is rapidly becoming one of the most feared attackers in Latvian football.
