“One of the most common questions we’re asked is: ‘Will the teacakes be coming back?’ There’s only one way to find out is to register for a ticket.”

Davies further revealed that Glasgow 2026 is working with a highly experienced creative team responsible for delivering some of the world’s biggest ceremonies, concerts and special live productions.

Fans can register for the Glasgow 2026 Opening Ceremony ticket draw through the official Glasgow 2026 website beginning from midday on Monday, May 18.

Organisers have clarified that registration alone does not guarantee a ticket. However, successful applicants from the first ballot will receive priority access to purchase tickets starting from 12:00pm on Tuesday, June 2.

Any remaining tickets after the first sales phase will be made available to a second wave of registered applicants from 12:00pm on Friday, June 5. Further announcements regarding the Glasgow 2026 Closing Ceremony and ticket details are expected to be released in due course.
