Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo delivered a masterclass on Saturday, scoring twice and registering an assist as AFC Toronto crushed Vancouver Rise FC 7–0 to storm into the Northern Super League (NSL) playoffs.

Okoronkwo set the tone early, curling in a superb free kick in the 6th minute to put Toronto ahead. She later capped her brilliant display with a second goal in the 66th minute, underlining her reputation as one of the league’s most dangerous forwards.

Toronto’s dominance was further highlighted by Kaylee Hunter, who bagged a brace to take her season tally to 12 goals. Kaela Hansen, Sarah Stratigakis, and Jade Kovacevic netting her first of the campaign also found the target in the emphatic win.

The record victory sealed Toronto’s playoff spot with four matches to spare, while also ending Vancouver’s impressive eight-game unbeaten streak.

Okoronkwo’s performance continues her remarkable form for both club and country. With seven goals and seven assists already this season, she remains a standout figure in the NSL, building on the brilliance she showcased at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Toronto, who remain firmly top of the table, are now the first team to confirm a playoff berth, and have firmly set their sights on clinching the league title.
