Ahmed Musa, MON, OON, has officially resumed duties as General Manager of Kano Pillars FC, pledging a bold new era for the club rooted in professionalism, unity, and ambition.
During a familiarization meeting held on Monday with Club Chairman Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar and other board members, the Super Eagles captain reaffirmed his commitment to revitalizing the club and restoring its status as one of Africa’s premier football institutions.
According to a statement from the club’s Media and Communications Directorate, the former Leicester City and CSKA Moscow forward declared that the time had come to reposition the four-time Nigerian champions for global relevance.
“Kano Pillars is our club and one of the most successful in Nigeria, but in recent years, the story has changed,” Musa said. “I want to assure everyone here that, with your support and the backing of the Board members, I will do everything possible to reposition the club and make it one of the finest not only in Africa but globally.”
Musa highlighted his intent to leverage his wealth of experience gained from top-flight European football and his deep roots in the domestic game to drive Kano Pillars forward. He stressed that collaboration with stakeholders—both within and outside Nigeria—would be key to achieving the club’s lofty goals.
He also underscored the need for unity of purpose, strategic planning, and unwavering commitment from management, players, supporters, and partners.
“This will require a collective effort,” he added. “Everyone has a role to play in restoring this club to its rightful place.”
Musa’s appointment by the Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, is seen as a strategic move aimed at bringing Kano Pillars in line with global best practices.
With Musa now at the helm, expectations are high for a new chapter of renewed ambition, excellence, and sustained success that will reignite the passion of fans in Kano and across Nigeria.
