Osun United Football Club surrendered an 4-match unbeaten record after losing 2-1 to Papilo Football Club on Sunday evening at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri in one of the Week 22 game of the Bet9ja Nigeria National League.
It was a keenly contested game as Papilo dictated the tempo in the early minutes of the game with Uchenna Njoku and Taylor Adebayor brilliant moves unravelled Osun United defensive set up.

Adebayor Taylor puts the host ahead on 6th minute, with half volley from point blank after Babma Bakari squares in brilliantly.

The Omoluabi Giants through Dare Olatunji and Tosin Omoyele asked questions successively as their efforts were inches wide having benefitted from the lofty range of the team captain Hakeem Olalere. 
Osun United responded with a goal in the 28th minute, when Olalere launches an interchange with Chinedu Emmanuel and the latter’s cross was unerringly scrambled into the hosts’ net by Jide Fatokun.

Uchenna Njoku in the 30th minute snatched the winner for his side after beating an offside trap in United’s final third to beat Nurudeen Lateef, in goal for Osun United.
Victor Okeji’s strike at the tale end of the first half would have  ensured an evenly distributed opportunities after lacing Chigozie Obasi’s long range outwards from close range.
The game was fast and furious deep into second half, given the cagey approach from both sides, with the visitor dictating the pace intermittently.

In the 62th minute, Omoyele was brought down by Akanni Richard at the edge of Papilo’s box after turning in Kajas Ifeanyi. Olalere curls in a set piece which was sublimely nodded by Chinedu Emmanuel past Omoregie Nobas in goal for Papilo only for assistant referee to flag his brilliant dive offside.
Osun United once again were unlucky in the 83rd minute with another towering header by Fatokun which resulted in goal ruled for an offside.
Osun United will next weekend welcome Warri Wolves at the Osogbo Township Stadium in the Matchday 23 of the Nigeria National League.
