Speaking at the event, the Group Managing Director of Eunisell, Chika Ikenga disclosed that his firm were encouraged to extend the shirt sponsorship deal because of the good performance Rivers United posted in recent times which has seen them pick a CAF Champions League ticket as well as winning the Super Four tournament in Enugu earlier this month and also for their impressive performance in their Spanish training tour and without a defeat.
“We started this deal with Sharks in 2015 and when they got relegated, we didn’t abandon them. Eunisell also transferred the deal to Rivers United when the state government merged Dolphins and Sharks. We decided to renew the sponshorship in furtherance of our promise to support the club through thick and thin,” he said.
Ikenga also announced an extra donation of N10m on behalf of Eunisell to Rivers United as a reward for the team’s impressive display last season.
Kpalukwu was full of appreciation to their shirt sponsor, a deal he said he was proud to flaunt which has come as a big relief to their campaign in the past two seasons.
“The only way we can say thank you to Eunisell is to win titles and continue to play good football,” Kpalukwu added.
