‎The Technical Manager of Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin Kennedy Boboye will be making his coaching debut with the Benin Arsenals in a competitive game on Sunday, October 26, 2025 since his appointment on Monday ….after the suspension of former head coach Greg Ikhenoba.

‎Coach Boboye who is two weeks old in charge of Bendel Insurance technical crew will be leading the team against new entrants Kun Khalifat FC at the Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri in the match day 10 tie in the Nigeria Premier Football League on Sunday. Kick off time is 4pm.

‎The fans, management and the football loving Edo people, no doubt expect a lot from the newly signed football tactician who is known for pulling surprise results especially away from home.

‎Coach Boboye has two league titles to his credit – 2017 and 2021 with Plateau United and Akwa Utd respectively, a feat that attests to his commitment to hard work as one of the best achieving coaches in the country.

‎Since assumption of duty, Boboye has been sweating it out to ensure fitness and match readiness on the part of the players, taking them through rigorous training sessions at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City and in their closed camp where the reset process of a battered team began.

‎After the shakeup in the team ahead of Matchday 10 of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season which is Boboye’s first test, some players who have never kicked a ball in any league games since the season kicked-off’ have been found worthy to make the team to Owerri while some regular ones in every squad have been put on special training routines.

‎The Benin Arsenals’ coach after the mandatory final training session ahead of the Sunday clash with Kun Khalifat FC at the Dan Anyiam stadium, said he was ready to face the challenges ahead of him, noting that with continuous hard work and dedication, Insurance FC will come out of the present situation.

‎He said the boys are In high spirits and ready for the away battle.

‎Bendel Insurance is in 2nd position from the bottom with 6 points while their opponents Kun-khalifat FC are currently sitting on 14 position with 11 points, 5 points ahead of their opponents in Sunday’s game.
