Mikel Obi’s Agent Denies Bribery Allegations

1 Min Read

John Ola Shittu, the former agent of Nigerian football icon John Mikel Obi, has strongly denied allegations made by ex-Dream Team coach Samson Siasia that he offered a €50,000 bribe to secure Mikel’s spot in Nigeria’s men’s football squad for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Shittu described the claims as baseless during an interview with Cable News.

“I’m one of the most respected agents in the game,” Shittu said. “I don’t associate myself with damaged, inconsequential people.”

He further emphasized that the allegations are insignificant to him, stating, “For me, this is a forgotten issue.”

Siasia had alleged that Mikel Obi’s agent approached him with a bribe offer, which he claimed to have rejected.

However, Shittu’s denial puts him at odds with Siasia’s account of the events.

The dispute between the two former football personalities has been making headlines, with Shittu seemingly unwilling to engage further in the matter.
