Founder of the Ladies in Sports conference Tega Onojaife, assured that more effort will be put into making the annual event impact more athletes and women in Sports as a whole because they have really done s much for the country and impact several lives positively.
Tega Onojaife also echoed the importance of its theme ‘’Developing the Women’s Game.’’ that it is very important and that is why they are using women football as a case study” because the super falcons are the most successful female team in Africa and his must also transcend to our National Women Football League (NWFL), it is now our social responsibilities to develop the Women’s game.
“There could not have been more apt and auspicious time to take a pensive look at the state of affairs of the women’s league than the platform provided by the enigmatic Ladies in Sports Conference as well as its captivating and challenging theme.’’
The British High Commissioner, Paul Akwright was in attendance as he presented grants on behalf of the Ladies in Sports team to last season’s three most valuable players of the Nigeria Women Premier League (Rofiat Sule and Alice Ogebe of Rivers Angels as well as Rita Akarekor of Delta Queens). In attendance was his Deputy, Laura Beaufils and the former Head of Politics, Andrew Fleming.
Also featured were the highly anticipated lecture sessions led by award winning UK Producer Benny Bonsu, delivering the first presentation on Globalisation of Women in Sports.

In addition, Super Falcons defender Onome Ebi briefly touched on her experiences and struggles as a female footballer before Ita Bassey, Head of innovation at Nigerian Breweries Plc., addressed Brand Management and Marketing.
Supersport Presenter Mozez Praiz, standing in for Felix Awogu, closed the six-hour programme with his take on Matchday TV Production and Broadcast Rights.
LIS 2017 was proudly supported by the UK High Commission in Nigeria, Promasidor Nigeria, Smooth 98.1 FM Lagos and LadiesMarch Africa.
