Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan claimed victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League on Sunday, crossing the finish line in 12.27 seconds to equal her season’s best time.
Competing in legal wind conditions (+0.7m/s), Amusan finished ahead of American hurdler Grace Stark, who placed second in 12.38 seconds, while Alaysha Johnson completed the podium with a time of 12.39 seconds.
The result marks the third time during the 2026 season that Amusan has recorded a performance between 12.27 and 12.28 seconds, maintaining a consistent run of results in the event.
The Paris victory adds to the Nigerian hurdler’s preparations ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, where she has been named as part of Team Nigeria’s athletics contingent. The Games are scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2.
Amusan will be aiming to defend the women’s 100m hurdles title, having won gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, before retaining the title at the 2022 edition in Birmingham, England.
Her latest Diamond League victory comes as the international athletics season continues, with the Commonwealth Games among the major competitions on the calendar.
