The road to Glasgow 2026 has become impossible to miss. With just 50 days remaining until the Commonwealth Games return to Scotland’s sporting capital, a special fleet of branded buses has been unveiled, bringing a splash of colour, anticipation and excitement to the city streets ahead of one of the biggest sporting events of the year.
From July 23 to August 2, Glasgow will welcome more than 3,000 elite athletes representing 74 nations and territories in an 11-day celebration of sporting excellence, unity and competition. The Games will unfold across an innovative eight-mile corridor of venues, creating a compact and fan-friendly festival unlike any previous edition.
The unveiling of the Games buses also marked the announcement of a significant partnership with First Travel Solutions, which has been named an Official Supporter of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
As one of the UK’s leading providers of transport management and mobility solutions for major events, First Travel Solutions will be responsible for ensuring the seamless movement of athletes, VIPs and Games stakeholders throughout the competition. The company will also play a key role in supporting Glasgow 2026’s commitment to delivering a more environmentally sustainable Games.
The partnership was officially revealed alongside Finnie, the charismatic Glasgow 2026 mascot, whose image features prominently on the striking buses alongside some of the Commonwealth’s most celebrated sporting stars.
In a further boost to Scottish sport, First Travel Solutions has also been confirmed as an Official Supporter of Team Scotland.
“We’re delighted to be helping to keep the Games moving,” said Simon Cursio, Managing Director of First Travel Solutions.
“From transporting athletes and VIPs to managing the complex logistics behind the scenes, our role is to ensure every journey runs smoothly so competitors and organisers can focus on delivering an unforgettable event.
“With just 50 days to go, seeing the Games buses on the streets of Glasgow makes it all feel very real. We can’t wait to welcome the world to the city and support a Games that is not only memorable but also more sustainable.”
For Glasgow 2026 organisers, the countdown has now entered a new phase.
Chief Operating Officer Jade Gallagher described the 50-day milestone as a defining moment in preparations for the Games.
“Seeing these incredible buses on the road makes it feel very real,” Gallagher said. “You certainly won’t miss them when they’re travelling around the city.
“We’re encouraging active travel across our eight-mile corridor of iconic venues, which has allowed us to significantly reduce the number of vehicles required to power a major multi-sport event. We’re proud to have First Travel Solutions supporting that vision.”
With anticipation building and the city beginning to embrace the Games atmosphere, Glasgow’s countdown clock is ticking ever louder. The athletes are preparing, the venues are readying themselves, and now the buses carrying the spirit of the Games are already rolling through the streets.
The final ticket release for Glasgow 2026 is now available, with tickets on sale across all sports as the city prepares to once again take centre stage in the Commonwealth sporting story.
