Nigeria’s build-up to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco has kicked into high gear, with the Super Eagles camp in Cairo witnessing a significant influx of talent.
Star winger Ademola Lookman (Atalanta) and defensive stalwarts Semi Ajayi and Bright Osayi-Samuel have officially reported to the team’s base at the Renaissance Hotel. Their arrival marks a major step as the three-time African champions intensify preparations.
The trio joins a rapidly growing squad, which also welcomed goalkeeper Amas Obasogie, midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi, and defender Igoh Ogbu among the latest arrivals.
With the camp officially opening on Sunday, more players are expected to trickle in throughout Monday. The Super Eagles are scheduled to hold their first full training session this evening as coach Finidi George begins his tactical fine-tuning.
The team’s focus will quickly turn to a high-profile friendly clash. Nigeria is set to face the Pharaohs of Egypt on Tuesday at the Cairo International Stadium, a crucial test of their readiness ahead of the tournament proper.
