The Bet9ja Foundation Ex-Internationals Cup will reach its climax on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, with a special welfare gesture for participating Nigerian football legends.
As part of the grand finale, Bet9ja will present N500,000 each to 32 ex-internationals during half-time of the final, in recognition of their contributions to Nigerian football.
The day’s programme will begin at 12pm with the third-place play-off between FC Okpara and FC Alloy, with both sides aiming to end their campaigns on a high and secure the bronze-medal position.
The spotlight will then shift to the grand final at 3pm, where FC Babington will face FC Enegwea for the tournament title.
Beyond the honour of lifting the trophy, the finalists will also compete for a share of the tournament’s prize money. The champions will receive N2.5 million, while the runners-up will take home N1 million.
The third-placed team will receive N500,000, with the fourth-placed side earning N250,000.
However, the headline moment of the finale could come at half-time, when Bet9ja’s welfare initiative will see each of the 32 participating ex-internationals receive N500,000.
The gesture adds a significant humanitarian dimension to the tournament, celebrating players whose careers helped shape Nigerian football while bringing former teammates and supporters together in an atmosphere of nostalgia, competition and camaraderie.
With the trophy, prize money and a special tribute to Nigeria’s football legends all at stake, the Mobolaji Johnson Arena is set for a memorable finale to the Bet9ja Foundation Ex-Internationals Cup.
