The road to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games has received a major boost in inclusivity and accessibility following the announcement of Allied Mobility as the Official Accessibility Partner for Glasgow 2026 and an Official Partner for Team Scotland.
The partnership underlines the Games’ commitment to creating an inclusive environment for athletes, officials and spectators when Glasgow hosts the Commonwealth Games from 23 July to 2 August 2026. The event is set to deliver 10 days of world-class sporting action across the city and will feature the largest Para sport programme in Commonwealth Games history.
As part of the agreement, Allied Mobility, the United Kingdom’s leading wheelchair accessible vehicle manufacturer will provide a fleet of specially designed wheelchair accessible vehicles to support competing Para athletes throughout the Games. The initiative is expected to significantly improve transportation and mobility for athletes travelling between venues and accommodation during the competition.
Glasgow 2026 will take place along an eight-mile sporting corridor across four iconic venues in the city. In addition to supplying accessible transport, Allied Mobility will also contribute funding for dedicated accessibility signage designed to guide spectators and visitors to accessible routes and seating areas at venues.

The partnership further extends through Allied Mobility’s sister company, Mobility Solutions, which will provide wheelchairs and electric scooters for public use during the Games, ensuring enhanced accessibility for spectators and visitors attending the event.
Both companies operate under the Glasgow-based Allied Vehicles Group, a major employer with more than 800 staff working across Glasgow, Britain and Europe.
The announcement was made at Scotstoun Stadium, one of the official venues for Glasgow 2026, where Allied Chairman Gerry Facenna and Managing Director Peter Facenna joined Glasgow 2026 Chief Operating Officer Jade Gallagher alongside Commonwealth silver medallist Sean Frame, who is preparing to represent Team Scotland in the T54 1500m event.
Speaking on the significance of the partnership, Para athlete Sean Frame highlighted the positive impact the initiative will have on competitors during the Games.
“Allied Mobility being involved in the Games and supporting disabled athletes is absolutely amazing and it will be invaluable to the athletes selected to compete. It will make it so much easier and less stressful not having to worry about transferring out of our day chairs as we have to do in normal cars. It will also make it a more relaxing and enjoyable experience when travelling to different venues during the games.
“These are my second Games representing Scotland and I am very excited and very proud to get to compete in my home city of Glasgow.”
Glasgow 2026 Chief Operating Officer Jade Gallagher also reinforced the importance of accessibility to the Games’ wider vision.
“Accessibility is central to our venue planning for Glasgow 2026. We’re hosting the largest Para sport programme in the history of the Commonwealth Games and we need our operations to match that ambition.
“Para athletes and visitors across Glasgow will benefit from Allied Mobility’s partnership and expertise in accessibility, helping in part to make the Games inclusive.”

Chairman of Allied Vehicles Group, Gerry Facenna, expressed pride in supporting the Games and the city of Glasgow through the partnership.
“As a wheelchair accessible vehicle manufacturer that has been helping to support the independence of people with disabilities for over three decades, we’re extending our commitment to providing accessible travel at this year’s Games, ensuring Para athletes and Commonwealth Teams can travel comfortably, confidently and with ease to competition venues. It’s also important that businesses like ours support Glasgow to host fantastic events like this in our great city.”
