Shina Phillips, CEO Lenders Consult International

Lenders Consult International has issued a comprehensive rebuttal against allegations of financial impropriety, firmly stating that neither the company nor its CEO, Dr. Shina Philips, has ever received “purported loot” or unauthorized payments from the Nigeria Police Force.

In a strongly worded statement, the firm clarified that it has never shared funds with the current Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., or any of his predecessors. Despite the high-profile nature of their collaborations, the company maintained that its work with the police has often been a labor of patriotism rather than profit.

“For the sake of emphasis, we restate that Lenders Consult International, our MD/CEO, and any member of our staff, have at no time received any money from the Nigeria Police,” the firm declared.

Lenders Consult highlighted its role as a catalyst for police transformation, specifically through the Nigeria Police Awards and Commendations. While these events are designed to motivate and recognize outstanding officers, the company revealed a startling reality.

The 2024 and 2025 editions held in Abuja were fully sponsored by Lenders Consult and its private partners, even when sponsorship funds fell short of covering costs.

The statement also shed light on the activities of its CEO, Dr. Shina Philips. A FIFA-licensed football agent known for facilitating international transfers, Philips has served as a consultant to the police since 2020.

Originally tasked with coordinating “Police Week 2020,” Philips continued his advisory role even after the pandemic forced the event’s cancellation and since his appointment, Philips has reportedly worked without pay, contributing his expertise to various police initiatives.

The firm noted that several official trips undertaken by Philips alongside the immediate past IGP were entirely self-funded, with zero cost to the taxpayer or the Force.

Reaffirming its status as a responsible corporate citizen, Lenders Consult pointed to its long history of media transparency, dating back to the launch of the Nigeria Pitch Awards in 2011. The company remains committed to its mission of partnering with the police to make the task of securing Nigeria more efficient and rewarded.
