The National Youth Games in Asaba have proven to be a thrilling showcase of future sporting talent, with Lagos, Edo, and defending champions Delta State engaged in a fierce battle for supremacy at the top of the medal table.
As of Thursday, Lagos State has surged into the lead, amassing a total of 61 medals, which includes 33 gold, 15 silver, and 23 bronze. Close behind, Edo State is in second place with 41 medals — 25 gold, 9 silver, and 15 bronze — while host state Delta, with 59 medals (17 gold, 20 silver, and 22 bronze), occupies third position.
Abia State has also put up a strong performance, currently sitting fourth with 9 gold, 8 silver, and 7 bronze.
