In a move aimed at rejuvenating the state’s football landscape, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has established a new management committee for the Ondo State Football Agency. This committee, comprised of members with diverse sports management backgrounds, will report directly to the Governor’s office.
The newly formed committee is tasked with overseeing the affairs of the state’s prominent football clubs: Sunshine Stars FC, Sunshine Queens FC, and the Sunshine Stars Under-19 team.
The committee members are:
- Divine Ogbonnaya (General Manager)
- Segun Joseph
- Awosakin Iloyomade (Football Association Representative)
- Iyabo Ajanaku
- Dapo Ajibade (Marketing Consultant)
This decision follows Governor Aiyedatiwa’s previous commitment to implement the necessary changes to ensure the prompt return of both Sunshine Stars and Sunshine Queens to the top tiers of Nigerian football. The Governor has challenged the committee to conduct a thorough review of the clubs’ existing challenges and to halt their recent decline.
