The Edo State Football Association (Edo FA) has officially announced the commencement of the 2025/2026 football season, beginning on Wednesday, 20th August 2025.
The new season is set to feature a full schedule of fixtures across all divisions, youth categories, and affiliated football bodies within the state. In a statement issued from its headquarters in Benin City, the Association emphasized its ongoing commitment to grassroots development, talent discovery, and structural growth within the game.
All clubs, referees, coaches, and administrators have been reminded to complete their registrations, licensing, and compliance obligations in line with Edo FA regulations. The Association also reiterated its strict enforcement of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) statutes, competition rules, and disciplinary measures throughout the season.
To ensure the smooth running of the campaign, Edo FA confirmed that comprehensive arrangements are in place to uphold safety, security, and fairness across all match venues. The Association is working in close coordination with security agencies, medical partners, and stadium officials to provide a safe and enabling environment for players, officials, and fans alike.
