Rangers International FC have confirmed the return of midfielder Chidiebere Nwobodo ahead of the 2025–26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. The experienced playmaker re-signs with the Enugu-based club on a two-year contract as they gear up for another title challenge under coach Fidelis Ilechukwu.

Nwobodo, who previously donned the famous red and white of the Flying Antelopes during the 2023–24 NPFL season, rejoins from Rwandan champions APR FC in Kigali, bringing continental experience and leadership to the heart of Rangers’ midfield.

The 28-year-old is no stranger to success with Rangers. He was a key figure in their title-winning campaign two seasons ago, and his return is seen as a major boost for a squad looking to build on that legacy. Before his move abroad, Nwobodo had already clocked 102 NPFL appearances and netted 16 goals a testament to his consistency and impact in the league.

Speaking on the move, a club official stated, “Chidiebere knows what it means to wear the Rangers shirt. He’s a leader on and off the pitch, and we’re excited to have him back as we aim for another strong season.”
