Brighton & Hove Albion Women have pulled off one of the most eye-catching signings of the summer, announcing the acquisition of Super Falcons star Chiamaka Nnadozie on a free transfer from Paris FC.
The 24-year-old, widely regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers in women’s football, will officially join the Seagulls on July 1, bringing with her a glittering resume filled with individual honours and elite-level experience.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Chiamaka to the club,” said Brighton’s head coach, Dario Vidosic. “She’s a talented and commanding goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to our defensive line.”
A Proven Winner
Nnadozie leaves Paris FC after five standout seasons during which she made 118 appearances, most notably starring in the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine final, where she saved two penalties to seal the title against PSG. Between 2022 and 2025, she played 16 matches in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, cementing her reputation as one of the best in Europe.
In 2024, she made history by becoming the first African player to win the UNFP Division 1 Féminine Goalkeeper of the Season award. That same year, she also scooped both the D1 Arkema Best Goalkeeper and the UNFP Goalkeeper of the Season honours.
Nigerian Roots, Global Reputation
Before her European breakthrough, Nnadozie made a name for herself at Rivers Angels, where she won the 2019 Nigeria Women’s Premier League and three Nigeria Women’s Cup titles. That same year, she was named IFFHS Africa’s Best Woman Goalkeeper.
Her rise on the international stage has been equally spectacular. Since her senior debut in 2018, she has amassed 55 caps for Nigeria, winning back-to-back CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year titles and becoming a mainstay in the Super Falcons lineup.
A New Chapter at the AMEX
Nnadozie’s arrival also signals Brighton’s growing connection with Nigerian football. She follows in the footsteps of Ini-Abasi Umotong, who joined the club in 2017 and helped secure their rise to the Women’s Super League.
For a Brighton side looking to build on its ambitions in the WSL, Nnadozie’s signing is both a statement of intent and a substantial upgrade between the sticks.
With her trophy-laden career and commanding presence, Chiamaka Nnadozie isn’t just joining Brighton; she’s arriving to make history.
