Nigeria’s Falconets women’s national team has set up a second-round clash with Rwanda’s in the ongoing FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The Rwandan side progressed after defeating Zimbabwe 2-1 on aggregate. They claimed victory in the first leg with a 2-1 win in Kigali, and held Zimbabwe to a goalless draw in the return fixture, also played in Kigali.
Nigeria, who were given a first-round bye due to their strong performance history in the tournament, will now kick off their qualifying journey against Rwanda.
The first leg of this second-round encounter is scheduled for September in Kigali, with the return leg to be played in Nigeria.
