Onoriode Odah in Vietnam |
Onoriode Odah has completed a one-year deal with Nigeria Professional Football League side Enugu Rangers from Vietnamese outfit, Song Lam FC.
Odah confirmed that he opted to return to the NPFL champions due to a breakdown in his negotiation to join another topflight team in Vietnam.
“I will be with Enugu Rangers for a season and the reason I had to come back to Nigeria is that; I had a couple of juicy offers in the Vietnamese League but indecision cost me a move early enough before the transfer window closed,” Odah told News men.
“But when I finally decided on a move, it didn’t work out as expected in terms of negotiation.
“There’s a big difference between the Nigerian and Vietnam league. There, they’ve got facilities, they respect contract, they care for players and in fact welfare is on point.”
The striker left the Flying Antelopes to secure a move to Song Lam FC in 2016 and has stated that Imama Amapakabo’s side faces a huge task to retain last season’s momentum.
“With regards to Rangers, it’s a big task this season because the fans expectations are very high after the club had an excellent season in 2016 where they were crowned champions,” he added.
“Playing in both the domestic league and on the continent demands a lot. Enugu Rangers current position on the league table doesn’t mean that they are the least. As the season progresses things will definitely change, hope to see him in Rangers colours in one of the rescheduled matches.
