As the Nigeria Professional Football league kicks off this weekend, members of the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA listed in the 2017 List of Premier league referees and Assessors designated for matches have been asked to be of good conduct and take their assignments in a free and fair manner that is acceptable to the people.
The charge was given by the NRA President, Tade Azeez even as he enjoined those on the panel of Referees Assessors to be mentors to the active referees.
Speaking during the opening session of the 2017 Pre Season Fitness Test and Seminar for National League, and Nationwide referees as well as National League Referees Assessors in Sagamu, Ogun State, Tade noted that the pace of the game and Laws guiding the round leather game have drastically changed warranting the referees to employ best approaches at ensuring a successful outing during matches adding that the pre season seminars and tutorials handed to them are enough for everyone to deliver.

Tade, who is also a member of the NFF Referees Committee revealed that the football house has approved the appointment of Fourth Officials from any state other than the states of the home team clubs. The new system, he said, is an international and accepted standard, the NRA has been craving for to attain perfection.
While stating that there would be no room for mediocrity and poor performance, the NRA President revealed that certain measures have been adopted to fish out the bad eggs in the arbiters’ body as both the decisions and actions of the referees and Assessors will be strictly monitored by the NFF Referees Committee.
Tade not only assured clubs and football stakeholders of good performances from the referees but also warned that the Association will not tolerate teams harass, intimidate or attack Referees during matches.
